The resources here are what we and our partners have come up with to help you to plan and make your film. Feel free to use the Forum if you have any questions.

Some of the PDFs contain links to other resources and websites, so to use them easily we recommend that you save them to your computer.

To save each file, right-click on the link (apple + click for Mac users), then select 'Save Target As...' and choose where you want to save the file.

The Big Picture

The Big Picture is part of the Department of Conservation’s national strategy to connect young people to the natural world.

It includes Big Idea and Values about how we are part of the natural world around us and how we can make a difference.

This year DOC is sponsoring the Big Picture Award for a film focusing on one or more of the Big Ideas and Values.

Forests for People Award

This year the New Zealand Coordinating Committee for the International Year of Forests is sponsoring a Forests for People Award for a film focusing on what forests provide.

We are looking forward to entries dealing with sustainable management, conservation and use of forests, including sustainable production and use of forest products, for the benefit of current and future generations.
