Last Year

The Outlook for Someday began in 2007. The mission for anyone up to the age of 20 was to make a short film, up to 5 minutes, about how you see the future unfolding; to look at your world through a lens of sustainability; to give your personal take on what matters to you, focussed on the future.

The Outlook for Someday 2007

There were 20 Winning Films, including 1 Best Film Containing Te Reo and Tikanga Māori.

Prime Minister Helen Clark gave out the prizes at an Awards ceremony hosted by TVNZ.

The Winning Films were broadcast on TVNZ6 Family.

Five of them – Post No Bills, Tiakina o Tātou Awa, A Sustainable Future, Play Your Part Right and PHASE Promotional Spot - were featured on Māori Television in The Outlook for Someday documentary, in which the film-makers showed their films to some of Aotearoa’s finest and most influential people from the worlds of hip-hop and art, politics, advertising and film.

The vote for Audience Favourite ended in a tie between And Inconvenient Tuth and Life to Scale.
